solarize/ sabatier

well, this was a fun assignment, why?!?!?! because it was solarization is just so much fun, it was like riding a flying panda bear through a bamboo forest. solarization was developed in the 1800s but rteally became popular in the 60s and 70s. to solariaze in photoshop, you have to use the s curve and create a parabola to inver the colors and such. i liked this assingment becaue it was fun to do and the turnout was great. i also wish we could have more fun assignments like this. the end.

pictoralism

today for the pictoralism assignment ( well not really today more like two days ago), we edited pictures and made them look old. to make the pictures look old, you changes the s curve, well not really the s curve but the different color curves and make the pictures look old. i really didnt like this assignment ( i think i say that for every assignment), mainly because it just was not fun. i dont know why this assignment was not fun, i think its because of the changing of the colors ALLL THE TIME ( nope). i would have rather of had a different assingment.

kaleidoscope picture

For this assignment, we made kaleidoscope pictures. to make a kaleidoscope image you have to take pictures. once you have taken the pictures you open up photoshop, and then the fun begins. you choose the photo that you like and you edit it. Then you crop the image to a perfect square ( like in math class, no way), and then add it to another blank picture that has been divided into four parts. you drag them over and rotate and use the lasso tool and its a great time. in the end you should have a kaleidoscope image. I didn't like this assignment because 1) i don't like the way kaleidoscope is spelled, its way to complicated and 2) kaleidoscopes confuse me. overall i did have fun and i thought that it would be fun to do it again.

Studio Lighting

for this assignment we used lighing in a studio to show the differences that light creates on the subject in portrait photographs. this was alos true for natural light situtations, the more shadows ( less light) the more dramatic the subject looked. I liked this assignment because it was fun to take specific pictures instead of randomly going out and taking nature pics. I also thought it was fun to take pictures with friends, because you never get to do something like that in school. I did not like the time constraits on this project, becaue i felt like we had so little time to get the pictures done. the editing was fun, but challenging at times because the blemish tool in photoshop is ridiculous. YOU CAN FIND PICS HERE!!!!

White balance

For this photography assignment i used white balance in various ways to show the difference in my photos. White balance affects the way that the photos turn out.For example, if i took a picture in flourescent lighting with auto balance my camera might add a yellowish tint to the picture which would be kind of bad since i didnt want a yellowish tint. so intead i would use a the flourescent white balance setting on my casmera to balance that out. that is what i did for this assignment. I also edited my pictures with photoshop( as you can see above), they consist of black and white photos, photos with a color screen and a self edited picture. i personally didn't like this assignment because i felt like i took all the pictures of random things, thinking that my topic was going to be easier than it is, when in reality the pictures look shoddy because there was not adequate time and consideration put into these photos. i do think that some of the pictures were turned from very bad photos into decent pictures with the help of photoshop.
